The Door Supervisor training course is Ideal for candidates looking to work as club door security, event security staff or even as a static security guards.

Assessment: Multiple-choice exams; common unit, specialist unit, conflict management, PI and practical assessment for PI also.

 

Before working as a Door Supervisor in the private security industry you must hold a licence granted by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Working without an SIA Door Supervisor's licence is a criminal offence. Before applying for your SIA Door Supervisor licence you must first gain a recognised Door Supervisor qualification.

The role of the Door Supervisor is to control admission to Night clubs and other licensed premises and to ensure that customers have a safe and hassel free night out.

Door Supervisors need to be able to control the door, manage conflict situations, document incidents, prevent drugs use and dealing and assist the management in ensuring the premises are run lawfully and responsibly.

To work as a Door Supervisor you must hold a frontline Door Supervisor's licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). To be granted this licence an applicant must:

Be at least 18 years old
Pass the SIA's criminality criteria
Hold a recognised door supervisor's qualification - the level 2 Award in Door Supervision

The Level 2 Award in Door Supervision is a legal requirement for any person applying for an SIA Door Supervisor licence. The course takes four days to complete and consists of the following elements:

SIA door license

Who should take this qualification?

Anyone wanting to work as a door supervisor in licensed premises; anyone applying for the SIA Door Supervisor Licence. A Door Supervisor Licence also entitles the holder to work as a security guard.

 

Once you have completed your Door Supervisor Training course and recieved your certificate of training you will then need to apply to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to obtain your licence. The SIA will license you to be a Door Supervisor. Your Door Supervisor license is then valid for 3 years.
